Going off what it’s like in the real world, it’s easy to understand why people think it’s tough to get jobs online, needing skills and experience, and all that jazz.

After all, it’s a big limiting factor in the real world and makes for large barriers for entry in some fields. So why wouldn’t it be the same online?

What’s great about searching online for jobs in this day and age, is the vast array of different options for online jobs that just aren’t available in the real world.

The beauty of the jobs listed below is that they all require little to no skills or experience. This makes the barrier for entry low and means you can get started today!

This is, after all, made to be a list of easy jobs!

Easy Jobs

That being said, there may be some jobs on this list that require some basic level of skill or knowledge. However, that might just be so that the job can be done more efficiently or open the doors for bigger roles and more money!

If such is the case, there won’t be anything that requires more than a short course to gain a bit of knowledge in the area or brush up on some basic skills. You can easily find really cheap courses on a platform such as Udemy that you can complete quickly working at your own pace.

With all of that said, let’s get into the list!

1) Virtual Assistant

Virtual Assistant

I think this one was always going to be at the top of the list, wasn’t it?

You might read a few of these lists on other sites and feel like it’s a bit generic to stick this one up there. There’s a good reason for that though!

What I mean by that is, becoming a virtual assistant has a very low barrier for entry. There are great platforms to find these jobs and they often don’t require any experience or skills that you can’t learn as you go.

As a virtual assistant, you’ll be responsible for tasks such as:

  • Answering calls/emails
  • Bookings such as venues, accommodation, flights, etc.
  • Keeping and tracking records
  • Scheduling events and meetings
  • Research
  • Organizing calendars
  • etc.

Another beautiful thing about this type of work is the ability to do it from anywhere in the world. The clue’s in the title, you’ll be working remotely!

There’s also a great demand for this type of work, busy individuals and businesses will always look to virtual assistants as a way to automate parts of their business.

What’s more, getting your foot in the door doing something like this can have great potential for career opportunities down the line!

Earning Potential

This line of work isn’t going to make you a millionaire by any means. However, it’s easy work and a doddle to get into for anyone. You also have the luxury of being able to work in your pyjamas and not get stuck in traffic on the commute to work!

That said, according to Payscale, the average hourly rate for a Virtual Assistant in the US is $15.81.. not too shabby!

Remember also, there’s potential for great bonuses depending on who you’re working for!

Where To Look

FlexJobs is a great job board that specializes in job listings for remote workers, perfect for Virtual Assistants. If you’re looking at getting into that line of work, be sure to give them a browse.

2) Data Entry

Easy Data Entry Jobs

This is another that I had to stick pretty high up on the list of easy jobs. The reason for this is that it shares a lot of the benefits that you get being a Virtual Assistant.

In fact, you’ll find that being a Virtual Assistant can involve some data entry tasks also. With a data entry job though, you’ll be doing little more than exactly that, entering data!

This means that once again the barrier for entry is low and you’ll be able to find this kind of work without needing any real experience. However, you may be expected to have some experience with data entry software but these are pretty basic skills you could even pick up with a bit of Googling.

Data entry isn’t very complicated really, your role would consist of:

  • Input data into software
  • Verify data
  • Track and update data
  • lot’s of data!

Nothing too complicated really then!

Earning Potential

While it’s not entirely too good to be true, these roles do come with lower earning potential.

Data entry jobs can start as low as $10/hr in the US, rising as you become more experienced with an average of around $13/hr.

Where To Look

You can find these jobs on the main job boards such as Indeed and Flexjobs. If you find that a lot of these roles require experience though, try a platform such as Clickworker that has a lower barrier for entry.

3) Freelancing

When it comes to looking for easy jobs, freelancing can be a great option if you have a particular skill or knowledge in a field. It’s also a great option for turning your hobby into an income!

The great thing about freelancing is you don’t have a job as such, you aren’t contractually employed by anyone long term. Instead, you hire yourself out to those that require the services you provide for short term projects.

What this means is that you work on your own terms, taking on projects as little or as big as you like! You’ll also be working remotely and the vast majority of the time freelancing gigs are online-based.

This gives you the freedom to control your earnings and workload, whether you’re looking to make money online full time or just use it as a little side hustle.

While you’ll often require some basic skills or knowledge in your field, the barrier for entry is still pretty low, given that in reality, you can hire yourself out to do whatever you want whenever you want.

Some common freelancing gigs tend to be:

  • Writing
  • Graphic Design
  • Video Editing
  • Web Design
  • SEO
  • Translation
  • Marketing

The list is pretty endless here, there’s a lot of skills that you can sell online as a service, making for great opportunity!

Earning Potential

It’s not really possible to put a figure on this as there are too many variables that dictate how much you can earn.

Some things to think about are:

  • What service will you be selling? – different skill sets come with vastly different price tags
  • How much are you willing to work? – You’re essentially working for yourself so the more time you put into it, the more you earn
  • What is your skill level in your field? – This will often dictate how much you’re able to charge for your service

To get a general idea, go to a platform like Fiverr and search for your service to see what others are charging.

Where To Look

As mentioned, the biggest most popular platform for selling freelance services is Fiverr.

If you would rather look at other people’s project offers than market your own services, FlexJobs is good here too.

4) Product Testing

Product Testing

I’ve thrown this one into the list as a bit of fun. As easy jobs go, this one is a dream and seems like a ridiculous way to make money online.

It’s no joke though, it’s definitely a possibility! It also makes for a fun potential side income opportunity.

The great thing here is you’ll essentially getting paid to work with products that you might even already use and love. This job is no more complex than testing functionality and features of different physical or digital products and then giving feedback or leaving a review.

It really is that simple, what a life eh?!

Earning Potential

There had to be some catch didn’t there! Doing a job like this full time is only a reality for a lucky few. You shouldn’t expect to replace a job with this.

That said it can be a great little side hustle given that it’s not even really work!

It’s hard to put a figure on this since you aren’t always going to be chosen for the offers, and you might not be interested in some of the stuff that comes up. This means your ‘work’ load can vary quite a bit.

There are also different types of payments you can receive for this, varying from cash to gift cards to being able to keep what you’re testing, depending on the offer.

Where To Look

A popular product testing company you can try is Vindale Research, they’ll match you with product offers once you’ve signed up.

From time to time, you’ll also find product review offers pop up on Swagbucks Discover.

5) Proofreader

Another truly easy job to look at getting into if you have half decent reading skills!

There’s nothing overly complex about proofreading. You won’t be required to make substantial corrections or changes to any work. You’ll simply be working as an extra pair of eyes looking out for typos and grammatical errors before a piece of work is submitted.

Dead simple really!

Earning Potential

According to Payscale, an early career proofreader in the US with little experience can expect to earn an average of $16.63.. decent!

Where To Look

Again, the best platform for a job like this would be Flexjobs. Another platform you can try is Upwork, they currently advertise over 1500 job offers for proofreaders.

That wraps up this short list of easy jobs that you can get into quickly and start making money online. There are options here for everyone whether you’re looking to replace your full-time job, or just make a little side income.
